Our family program supports the people around someone dealing with mental health challenges or substance use. Because recovery and progress do not happen in isolation, and families that are equipped to help make better outcomes more likely.
What It Is
When a family member is dealing with a serious mental health challenge or substance use issue, the people around them absorb it. They adjust their behavior, manage the tension, cover for the person, and worry constantly. They often do not seek help for themselves because they think the focus should be on the person who is struggling.
What the research shows is that family involvement improves outcomes for the person in treatment. And that the people doing the supporting need support too.
